A New Home for Scottie
When a young rear-gunner was shot down in 1942, his friend Lil inherited his toy Scottie dog with flashing eyes. Fifty years on, Lil, Scottie and a group of Bermondsey pensioners went to Hamburg to talk to German pensioners.
When Lil offered Scottie to her German host as a gesture of reconciliation, she didn't know what response she'd get.
