with The BBC Scottish Orchestra
Leader, J. Mouland Begbie
Conductor, Ian Whyte
This is the last of Sir Harry Lauder's group of three broadcasts. The irrepressible Sir Harry needs little introduction to his listeners, and he has proved himself once more just as much a master of the microphone as of the footlights.
Since his last two broadcasts Sir
Harry has been inundated with letters, and as ' The Broadcasters' mentioned last week, he has found it impossible to reply personally to all of these. Among them were two gifts of money for charity, one of 23s. The sender of this explained that two years ago he heard Sir Harry making an appeal and intended to contribute a guinea. He put the matter off, but now sent it with 2s. added for interest. Both the senders of money were Scotsmen!
