Nationalisms and Imperialisms in the Middle East by Walid al Khalidi
Arabia has always seemed to have a romantic fascination for Englishmen, but this has little to do with the Middle East of today-a region of rising nationalisms struggling to catch up with the modern world. Mr. Khatidi, himself a Moslem and an Arab from Jordan, now Lecturer in Arabic at Oxford, analyses some of the causes of misunderstanding and of loss of sympath\ between Arabs and Englishmen.
