During the latter part of his life, at Lamb House, Rye, the novelist E. F. Benson created two middle-aged women - Mrs Emmeline Lucas and Miss Elizabeth Mapp - who battle for social and cultural superiority in the little town of Tilling.
Aubrey Woods celebrates that outrageous world, with readings by GERALD CROSS from Benson's memoirs.
