Jackanory Request Week: The Outlaw

on BBC One London

with Gilbert Wynne
This week's stories tell of the days when England was a country of deep forests which hid many secrets, and where men went in time of danger-men like Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

A new collection of five Robin Hood stories has recently been published by the BBC as a paperback in the 'Jackanory' series. Written by Edward Blishen, the tales are based on old ballads and reveal something of the period's historical background. - 'Robin Hood' can be ordered through booksellers, price 3s. 6d. or by post (price 4s. 3d. including postage and packing) from BBC Publications, [address removed].
