When we heard that Mother would be coming out of hospital on Thursday we began to think about a convalescent holiday for her. Of course she will have to rest at home first. Maud suggested that she should take her to America but no one else thought this a good idea! Rosamund Owen has agreed to look after the twins while Jenny is in Rome. On Wednesday I decided to take a day off from work but poor Mrs. Maggs developed lumbago so I had to get down to the housework after all; so it was a nice surprise when Jim announced that he had taken seats for a theatre that evening.
