The Impresarios

on BBC Radio 2

Michael Craig continues the stories of the men who create the world of entertainment. Harold Fielding
Part 2: Theatrical Impresario with the voices of Harold Fielding
I never could be the chief executive of a great big public company, it just wouldn'appeal to me at all. I'm sure if you looked back to the days of Charles B. Cochran and of Jack Hylton handling vast sums of money, doing vast things - they were themselves, and that's u'hat I think an impresario is all about.
Tommy Steele
Harold is the person you go to when all other things fail - he's not there in the corner working the strings, he doesn'do that - he tells you he trusts you and then lets you get on with the job. The only time that anybodll I know sees Harold Fielding coming towards them - look out because he's coming because you've done something wrong and he knows about it. Joe Brown
He should be Prime Minister that bloke - he's a very hard man but very fair. I don'think I'd have any qualms about doing business with him. If you take him at his word literally, then you're on a pretty safe bet you won'get conned. with Ian Bevan , Ray Cook Research BILL SULLIVAN Written by FRANK SALTER
