Murder in Mind: Suicide

on BBC One London

Diana Rigg stars in the latest in a series of thrillers.
Years after a boy is driven to suicide by school bullies, his mother avenges his death with cold precision.

Crime Drama: Murder in Mind 9.00pm BBC1
Diana Rigg stars in this psychological thriller as Jill Craig, a 65-year-old widow who's found dead in the opening scenes, having apparently committed suicide by taking an overdose. It may not sound much of a role for one of our finest actresses, but the truth about Jill's death is revealed slowly through flashbacks, and this is where - eventually - we see Rigg.
A neighbour's suspicions lead the police to declare Jill's death a murder, and it doesn't take long before they arrest her handyman, Scott (Nick Reding), a petty villain who has always been a bully. Even though it becomes obvious very quickly what's going on, it's nicely played out and makes for surprisingly engrossing viewing. (Jane Rackham)
