Olympics 92

on BBC One London

The men's figure-skating competition has a proud British tradition. John Curry won gold in Innsbruck in 1976 and his success was followed four years later by Robin Cousins in Lake Placid. Steven Cousins (no relation) from Deeside is the main British hope this time.
Ukrainian Viktor Petrenko will be hoping to avenge his
European Championship defeat by Petr Barna , while Canada's Kurt Browning is certain to offer fierce competition.
The event gets under way with the original programme; the medal is decided on Saturday with the longer free programme.
In Group A of the ice hockey, world champions Sweden play Germany while the USA take on Finland.
Introduced by Helen Rollason.
