Joan and Betty's Bible Story: Paul returns to Jerusalem
by Mr. E.R. Appleton, West Regional Director

Today's story deals with one of the most dramatic moments of St. Paul's journey.
'Behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there.' These words formed part of St. Paul's farewell message to the Christians at Ephesus. His eyes, like those of his Master, were set towards Jerusalem, though he, too, knew that his life would be in danger. The prophetic note of the episodes that follow is sounded by Agabus who, taking Paul's girdle, binds his own hand and feet, saying: 'So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle.'
