After Adlard Coles

on BBC One London

The first of three programmes in which
Paul Heiney cruises the Solent in his gaff-cutter the Grace O'Malley. It's 50 years since the yachtsman and author K. ADLARD COLES first published his famous guide to these popular waters, and the changes that have taken place since then have been reflected in the numerous updated editions of his book. But it's the first edition that provides Heiney's inspiration, as he sets sail to discover how the Solent has fared at the hands of developers and visitors; and to consider what the future may hold for those who live around its shores.
