Burt Lancaster in Scorpio

on BBC One London

The last of three films featuring one of Hollywood's most versatile stars with Alain Delon Paul Scofield
Suspected of selling out to the Russians, Cross - an ageing CIA agent - is considered 'dispensable' by his employers. They hire
Scorpio, a skilled assassin, to kill the undercover agent - a task he finds more difficult than usual. The settings for this contemporary thriller are Washington, Vienna and Paris, but it's the sordid, murderous world of international espionage which dominates the film.
