Piano Trio played by Frederick Grinke (violin) ; Florence Hooton (cello) ; Kendall Taylor (piano)
Ravel's Piano Trio was written in 1915 and is one of the composer's masterpieces. Imbued with' that poetic spirit and written with that purity of style which are so characteristic of the early String Quartet, it surpasses that work because of its maturity of craftsmanship and thought. AU four movements of the Piano Trio are thematically related : the first subject of the first movement being the generating theme.
