Bernard Shaw and the BBC with Cyril Cusack as Bernard Shaw
From almost the very start of broadcasting Bernard Shaw was a regular, if at times difficult, contributor. He had strong views not only on the major issues of the day, but on how he should be announced at ttie microphone and on how his plays should be produced for radio. This account of the respectful but wary relationship between Shaw and the BBC over 25 years provides an unfamiliar and entertaining glimpse of one of the great literary figures of the century.
The programme includes previously unpublished correspondence from the BBC's Written Archives.
