The Scene, is a gipsy encampment in a wood-
Two half-bell ten's of canvas are in the shelter of the trees. In the rear, before the tents, a red fire burns, over which, on a tripod, is suspended a pot, and on a log near the fire sits middle-aged woman of the true gipsy type. The night is warm and breathless, and presently, after staring into the fire, she draws a gleaming knife.
