'Mr. Wilkes at home in his own bar-parlour'

The twelfth in a series of programmes that are being broadcast weekly to the Empire
Once again it is Christmas time at The Black Dog which tonight will celebrate its second Yuletide in a characteristically festive programme, while Howard Marshall, the Wilkes's, S.E. Reynolds, and other visitors, gather around the Christmas tree.
Pascoe Thornton tells us, by the way, that in his Christmas post-bag is a gift from an Estonian lady, Baroness Helma von Voelkersam, who, by her consistent interest in the Empire productions, might be well christened 'Non-Empire Listener No. 1'. This year she has sent to several of the Empire producers calendars designed and made by herself. Thornton is particularly proud of his which records the Baroness's conception of various 'At The Black Dog' characters, scenes, and occasions.
