A Monmouthshire man, Parry Jones was born at Blaina in 1891. He comes of musical stock-his father was a well-known Welsh amateur tenor. He studied under Albert Visetti at the Royal College of Music and at Milan under that teacher of famous singers, Ernesto Colli. For two years before the war he sang at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, and on this side he has played leading roles for the B.N.O.C., the D'Oyly Carte, Carl Rosa, and Covent Garden Opera Companies.
