Charles Bye studied at the Birmingham School of Music, and later with Rowsby Woof and with Cesar Thomson of the Brussels Conservatoire Before coming to London he was responsible for many first performances of modern chamber music in the provinces, including works by Bartok and Ravel. Bye has also played numerous concertos.
Bye has been leader of several orchestras, and is at present a member of the London Symphony Orchestra. He has played at the Glyndeboume Opera House, and the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
