This evening Mr. John Maud , Fellow of University College, Oxford, and member of the Oxford City Council, will discuss ' Laissez faire and the nineteenth-century Liberal State,' and will take for his period that part of the century between the end of the Napoleonic Wars and 1867, in which year the Urban State was given a share in political authority. In his next talk, on January 22, Mr. Maud will discuss ' The Growth of Collectivism.'
