The Phoenix and the Carpet

on BBC One London

by E. NESBIT ; dramatised in eight parts by JOHN TULLY
The children have sent the carpet away to its native Persia to bring back some gifts to entertain them. When it returns, however, they are nonplussed to find that the gifts are four-legged, furry and need feeding.
