Sir Reader Bullard, who spent more than twenty-five years in rhe Foreign Service in the Middle East, had a long personal acquaintance with the late King Ibn Saud. In this talk he describes Ibn Saud's personality, the expioits-both adventurous and diplomatic — by which he achieved his outstanding position among rhe Arab rulers, and his attitude towards his own and the Western world.
