7-The Kingship Psalms
Eight of the psalms used by the Christian Church are psalms which proclaim the Kingship of God. They were sung by the Jews when the earthly king, representing God, ascended his throne at each New Year Festival, and were linked with the creative work of God in nature. JDr. Welch speaks of these Kingship Psalms today, and Trevor Harvey of the music to which the BBC Singers will sing them.
