on BBC Radio 3

One of west Germany's most admired poets, Hans Magnus Enzensberger , has taken the story of the Titanic as the theme for his poem-sequence, and developed it into a commentary on contemporary culture. He reads the first of three selections from the sequence, in his own English translation.
