Farming: Swedish Meat Marketing

on BBC One London

Introduced by John Cherrington.

Over eighty per cent. of all farm products are marketed by farmer-controlled cooperatives. Costs of marketing meat amount to seven per cent. of the wholesale price, the rest goes to the farmer. The Farmers' Weekly and the BBC have co-operated to investigate the meat marketing system in Sweden, to see if there is anything to be learned.
