Gary Cooper in The Westerner

on BBC One London

with Walter Brennan, Doris Davenport and Dana Andrews
A season of films featuring five great Hollywood screen personalities of the 1930s and 1940s.
When drifter Cole Hardin is falsely accused of horse-stealing, he finds himself in the saloon-court of the notorious Judge Roy Bean, 'the law west of the Pecos'. But the judge has one weakness - his idolatry of the 'Jersey Lily', Lily Langtry - and in this Cole sees a chance to save his skin.
