Royal Artillery regimental slow march: Duchess of Kent
Leslie Simpson had a childhood ambition to become a concert pianist. He sang as a boy in the choir of a North-Country church, where his success as a chorister gained for him the free gift of organ tuition under William Granger at St. Mark's Church, Broomhill, Sheffield. But he still clung to his desire to become a pianist, and it was not until the advent of the electric-unit organ that his mind turned towards his present job.
