BBC Proms 2006: First Night of the Proms

Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London. Jiri Belohlavek raises the baton in his new role as chief conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra to launch the 112th season of Henry Wood Promenade Concerts. The concert lights the candles for the Proms celebration of Mozart's 250th birthday and Shostakovich's centenary, and features music from Belohlavek's Czech homeland. Presented by Stephanie Hughes
