5 That Certain Trio
' That Certain Trio ' has returned to Mayfair cabarets after an absence since 1930, when Ivy St. Helier first saw the possibilities in teaming Patrick Waddington , Anne de Nys , and William Walker -the latter now replaced by John Ridley. Miss St. Helier produced the original act and gave it its name.
Their first broadcast, since this act got together again, was in ' Monday at Seven ' on November 1, when they also gave a television performance. Patrick Waddington needs no introduction to listeners, as he has played in a variety of rôles since the 2LO days, and is one of the most popular of broadcasters. Anne de Nys is unmistakably French when singing in that language, while her English accent is quite ' unbroken '. John Ridley is responsible for most of the lyrics.
