Nick Barraclough shares his longtime enthusiasm for guitarist Ry Cooder in this tribute spiked with contributions from blues musician Taj Mahal , fellow band member and songwriter John Hiatt , guitarist Albert Lee and Cuban musicians from the Buena Vista Social Club sessions.
Cooder, who is 60 on 15 March, has ventured into nearly every genre of popular music, from old-time mountain to rock, blues, jazz, gospel, R&B, Tex-Mex and beyond. The programme features Cooder's personal take on his own multifaceted and influential career.
