Woman's Hour

on BBC Radio 4 FM

from 2.0 Introduced from Malvern by Maureen Staffer
The Malvern Festival
Maureen Staffer and the Woman's Hour team report ' live ' from this graceful spa town nestling on the slopes of the Malvern hills. These hills were a rich source of inspiration to the composer Edward Elgar who shared his love for the place with Bernard Shaw. Today the hills are still beautiful, due in no small part to the efforts of local conservationists to keep them unspoiled. We'll be climbing the hills to the famous Malvern Beacon; tasting the spa waters which are exported all over the world and meeting some of the international personalities who will be in town for the Festival,, BBC Birmingham
