Story Time The Diary of a Nobody

on BBC Radio 4 FM

by GEORGE and WEEDON GROSSMITH abridged in seven parts by DONALD BANCROFT Read by DAVID DAVIS
1: 1 resolve to keep a diary This chronicle of English suburban life in its Victorian heyday records the daily endeavours and misfortunes of Mr Pooter , a city clerk with an over-developed sense of dignity.
Its publication was a matter of no regret to him, for as he sard: ' have often seen reminiscences of people I have never even heard of, and I fail to see - because I do not happen to be a somebody - why my diary should not be interesting. My only regret is that I did not commence it when I was a youth.'
