Michael Berkeley's guest today is jazz bassist Dave Holland, who was born in the Midlands but has lived for some time in the USA, where he runs a highly successful jazz quintet. His musical passions include many jazz greats, among them Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus and Duke Ellington, but he also loves the music of Bela Bartok.
