A Topical Mixture
Served by MARTYN C. WEBSTER with NITA VALERIE , GODFREY BASELEY
Two Pianos,
JACK HILL and BASIL HEMPSEED
Tonight listeners are to hear an intimate topical revue served up in the form of a cocktail and dedicated to the month of November. Guy Fawkes Day, fog, and the European Convention of Chefs, each will be celebrated. An original and amusing hunting sketch will be a feature of the programme, and St. Andrew's Day celebrations will have a share of the limelight for the sake of Scots in the Midlands.
Both the authors, Francis Durbridge and Charles Hatton , are well-known writers in the Midlands. Durbridge, though quite young, has already written ten shows for Midland programmes, and is a star writer for the Midland Children's Hour; Hatton is a freelance radio critic and has written a number of radio revues. Listeners will remember his Suicide Parly that was recently relayed from the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
Jack Hill and Basil Hempseed , the composers, are very well known on the air, not only as composers but for their two-piano act. They are equally at home with straight and with syncopated music.
