When a crate of biological specimens from the Amazon jungle is sent to Chicago's natural history museum, a series of gruesome murders begin to take place. Police lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta and biologist Margo Green investigate, and they soon realise something unimaginable is lurking in the bowels of the museum.
