The Natural History of an Alien

on BBC Two England

How do you set about designing an alien? As part of A Weekend on Mars, the BBC's Natural History Unit challenges a team of top scientists to conceive and design alien life forms of the kind that might plausibly populate worlds beyond our own. The results, which include flocks of huge flying predators and giant balloon plants, are brought to life using 3-D computer animation.
