BBC Proms 2006

on BBC Radio 3

Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London. Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra return to the Proms for the first of two concerts on successive nights.
Symphonies by Mozart frame Colin Matthews's imaginative orchestration of three of Debussy's piano preludes, and Rattle's championship of new music also brings an energy-driven work for huge orchestra by Swiss composer Hanspeter Kyburz. Presented by Stephanie Hughes.
