In commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the death of Byron, on 19 April 1824, Douglas Cleverdon has compiled a radio portrait of Byron based on the recollections of his contemporaries .and of his own poems and letters.
This first programme is concerned with the influences and events that shaped Byron's personality until in 1816 he left England forever.
