While Our Lord is still working in Galilee, messengers arrive to say that Lazarus, his friend, is sick. He seems strangely heedless. Then he begins the last journey to Jerusalem. Today, Dr. Grimley considers two incidents on the journey. Bartimeus was a blind man whose faith made him pester Christ with his pleadings--and sight was given to him. Zacchaeus was a rich taxgatherer. He had climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, for he was a short man. Jesus called him down and stayed with him in his house — sudden unexpected call which provoked a terrific response.
