The Saturday Film: Rentadick

on BBC One London

Starring James Booth, Richard Briers
Major Upton, seedy boss of Rentadick Inc, is surrounded by fellow private detectives of equal incompetence. When his firm is hired to keep watch on an inventor's wife and a secret nerve gas formula, confusion - and deadly gas - is soon in the air. This bawdy British comedy was written by members of the Monty Python team and marked the big-screen debut of the late Richard Beckinsale.
