One in ten households in the UK will be able to choose their own TV entertainment by the end of next year.
Sales of video cassette recorders are heading for one million by Christmas, and already you can rent Superman or Wagner's Ring at your local shop. Cable television is piping recent films to your door and a ' dish ' in your back garden can tune you into international television. The much-postponed video disc and new record-plavinff systems are following closely.
Paul Vaughan reports on the implications of the video boom for the entertainment industries and to the viewer at home who can now decide what's on tonight.
