Sarah Walker presents the first of four concerts of music from the 1970s, given earlier this week in Birmingham University as part of the Towards the Millennium festival.
Thomas Ades conducts the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group in two highly contrasting pieces -
Lutoslawski's Preludes and Fugues and John Adams 's Shaker Loops. Oboist Jonathan Kelly plays Piri by Isang Yun and joins members of the BCMG in Oliver Knussen 's Cantata.
