Leon Quartermaine in 'NOAH'

on BBC Home Service Basic

View in Radio Times

A play by Andre Obey , translated and adapted for broadcasting by Michel St. Denis and George Devine , with music composed by Herbert Murrill
Cast in order of speaking
Production by Barbara Burnham and Maurice Brown
This is a special radio adaptation of the play that created such a sensation in the West End in 1931, and again when John Gielgud played the part of Noah in an English version in 1935. Michel St. Denis, who produced
Noe at the New Theatre, has collaborated with George Devine in this adaptation, introducing a commentator to explain Noah's actions and the doings of the various animals. Leon Quartermaine , says Val Giel gud, is ideally suited for the part of Noah, and none need question Gladys Young 's capability to play his faithful wife.
