This Thursday, the London Film Festival opens with Merchant Ivory's Remains of the Day, starring Anthony Hopkins. As well as showcasing the best of world cinema, several big films will be screened including Altman's prize-winning Short Cuts, Farewell to My Concubine and Robert De Niro's directorial debut A Bronx Tale.
