A series of twenty-six dramatic and authentic films produced by the National Broadcasting Company and the U.S. Navy with the assistance of the Admiralty and the Air Ministry, and using film obtained from both allied and enemy sources.

The opening episode in this story of naval conflict in World War II covers the anti-U Boat campaign from 1939-41.
The musical score was composed by Richard Rodgers, and played by the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Russell Bennett.
