Can Trafalgar Square Learn from Las Vegas?
Robert Venturi , one of the most controversial figures in contemporary architecture, will reveal his plans for the extension to the National
Gallery this month. His articles and books such as Learning from Las Vegas have had a profound and radical influence but the architectural world is holding its breath as Venturi takes up his first major commission anywhere.
Michael Oliver travelled to the USA to see some of Venturi's buildings and to talk to critics, architects, colleagues, to people who use Venturi's buildings and to Robert Venturi himself. Producer CARROLL MOORE
