Between the Ears: Shorts

on BBC Radio 3

Three linked features evoking different worlds of language, colour and hearing. 1: Listeningto Lists. How writers, artists and film-makers have used lists in their work. With Peter Greenaway , Don Paterson and Emma Kay.
2: The Colour of Sound. Peter White , blind from birth, considers his perception of colour based on sound and music, with the help of composer Jonathan Harvey and painter George Dannatt. Harvey's music is interwoven with a poem by Sean Street , which moves through darkness and shades of colour towards light and silence. 3: In a Child's Ear. Audiologists and poets examine the process by which babies make sense of the barrage of sound that greets their ears when they leave the womb.
