Drama on 3: Snow

on BBC Radio 3

Ka, a poet and political exile, returns to Turkey to write an investigative piece about troubling events in the mysterious, snow-shrouded city of Kars - a place haunted by the silences of its own history. This spectacular novel by Orhan Pamuk evokes the spiritual fragility of the non-Western world, its ambivalence about the godless West, and its fury.
Dramatised by James Friel and translated by Maureen Freely.

(Orhan Pamuk is a guest on Night Waves on Thursday at 9.30pm)
