Jack Dee Live at the Apollo

on BBC One London

2/6. Fast-talking Irish comic Dara O'Briain joins the sharp-suited deadpan maestro in a set taking in know-it-all doctors and a koala bear posing as a phone-sex operator. With strong language.

Comedy of the Week: Jack Dee Live at the Apollo 10.35pm BBC1
Jack Dee is on fine form once more, celebrating London's successful bid for the 2012 Olympics - "At last Stratford East will get that desperately needed velodrome" - making nasty comments about TV sports presenter Sue Barker and imitating a camp shot-putter.
But he's at his best as he mauls the British obsession with DIY, notably our insistence on front porches and the perils of asking questions of a certain store's clueless staff.
Guest Dara O'Briain keeps up the pace with his rapid-fire delivery. He's a treasure trove of mad meanderings: his musings about possible terrorist attacks on a model railway museum are as surreal as they are funny, and a rambling dissection of the Lord's Prayer, noting the probable prevalence of trespassers in biblical times, is a polished comedy gem.
