When William Foster finds himself in a rush-hour freeway gridlock, the heat of the day and the frustration of his empty life finally make him snap. He abandons his car, determined to "go home" to his ex-wife and daughter. But it turns out to be a journey in which the violent mayhem just keeps escalating.
