Sir Reader Bullard was Ambassador to Iran till his recent retirement. During his early career in the diplomatic service he was a colleague of Flecker, the poet. In this talk he gives a picture of Flecker and of the life of a young diplomat in the Middle East in the peaceful years before the first World War.
